Tournament Information: Walking/Pull Carts: Players are required to walk and carry their own bags or use a pull cart. The only exception to this rule is for the 6-8 Coed age division, who are allowed a caddie.
Parents and Spectators: Parents and spectators are allowed to coach/motivate/encourage their players in-between holes ONLY. While the player is playing the hole, they are on their own.
Caddies: Caddies are not allowed for any age division except the 6-8 Coed. The only exception to this is during the West Texas Junior Open and the Tour Championship, where all age divisions are allowed a caddie.
Stroke Limit: The UIL 9 stroke limit is enforced at every event.
Beginning January 1st, 2012, the West Texas Junior Open, Snyder Shoot Out and the Tour Championship will waive the stroke limit for the 16-18 Boys and 15-18 Girls divisions. This is done in order to comply with Junior Golf Scoreboard rankings.
Sky Caddies and Range Finders: Effective as of January 1st, 2012, we will allow the use yardage measuring devices. These range finders may be used to only determine yardage. Slope measurements and any other measurements will not be allowed.
Cell Phones/Electronic Devices: Players must NOT use cell phones or any other electronic devices in the duration of an event.
Rules: All events are governed by USGA rules. Players need to have at least a general understanding of the rules of golf when they play in an event. Because we are limited in monitoring ALL play during an event, it is a players responsibility to know the rules. As we always say, when in doubt play two balls (rule 3-3) and ask the tournament staff when possible.
Ties: In the event of a tie (for the top 3 places), we will try our best to get players on the golf course for a sudden death playoff. If time or availability of the golf course does not allow it, there will be a scorecard playoff starting on the number 1 handicap hole.
Rules Decisions/Rules Committees: Parents/spectators are NOT responsible for making rule decisions and should refrain from doing so. If there is ever a rules issue that arises in a round and the players are unsure of what to do, they need to play under rule 3-3. We do this to eliminate the problem of a parent/spectator issuing a wrong ruling that could actually cost the players score in the end.
Scorecards: Players will trade scorecards with their group at the start of the round. Players are ONLY responsible for the hole by hole score. We strongly recommend checking your hole by hole scores with your playing partners before signing and turning in. Two signatures are required on the scorecard before turning in (the player and the person who kept the players score). 6-8/9-11 Divisions: We ask that parents/spectators help with the scoring and scorecards in these divisions. The player must keep the score, but parents/spectators may help them double check scores at the end of the round. 12+ Divisions: Ages 12 and up are not allowed assistance with scorecards from parents or spectators. If there is ever any questions with a scorecard in these divisions or if a player is unsure on what to do, the problem needs to be brought to the tournament staff and it will be handled from there.
Dress Code: No jeans/denim, athletic shorts or t-shirts will be allowed.
All players need to wear collared golf shirts or golf mocks and nice shorts or slacks. Girls need to make sure that shorts and skirts are appropriate lengths.
We understand that some of the courses we play do not have a dress code, but we do. Therefore, we ask that you are dressed appropriately.
Inclement Weather: Our policy is that we will get in as many holes as possible to score. Once the tournament has started, no refunds will be issued due to commitments to golf courses.
If the tournament gets cancelled due to weather, we will notify the players before the event if possible. If the event gets rescheduled, players entry will carry over to the new date. If the player wishes not to play on the new date, their entry will be refunded or credited to another event.
Registration: Registration forms can be found under the 2012 Registration Tab or by clicking here.
How to register: - Regular Registration Form (use this if you are paying at the event) - Pre-Pay Registration Form (use this if you are paying in advance with a debit/credit card) - Phone Registration (Player can call tournament directors and register)
Paying Online: When players register online, a confirmation email will be sent within 2 hours of registering. If you do not receive a confirmation email from PayPal, then the payment did not go through. If you ever experience any problems with PayPal, please email or call us.
Paying at the Event: We do not accept debit/credit cards at the tournament site, only cash or check.
Walk Ups: Walk ups are always welcome to any events. Remember, if the event is tee-times, always make sure you walk up at least 30 minutes before the first tee-time in order for us to get you in a time.
Tee-Times: Most summer events will be shot gun starts. However, if the event is tee-times, we will have times posted on the website no later than the day before an event. It is the players responsibility to check their time and arrive at the course at least 30 minutes before. Awards: Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 places in all age groups that have 3 or more players participating in that age group.
Points: Players will earn points for each event they compete in. At the end of the season, the top 15 point earners in each age division will receive an invitation to the 2012 Tour Championship. If a player wins 3 or more events, he/she automatically wins an exemption to the championship.
The point system as follows: 1st Place: 20 points 2nd Place: 15 points 3rd Place: 10 points 4th Place: 8 points 5th Place: 7 points 6th-10th Place: 6 points 11th-15th Place: 5 points 16th-20th Place: 4 points 21st-25th Place: 3 points 26th-30th Place: 2 points 31st and beyond: 1 point
2012 Tour Championship: We are proud to announce that the 2012 Tour Championship will be held at San Angelo Country Club in San Angelo, TX for the second year in a row!
How to Qualify: To qualify, players must finish in the top 15 points by the end of the season in their age division or have won at least 3 events to be exempt.
At the end of the season, if there is somebody in the top 15 that doesn't plan on participating, his spot will be given up and moved down to the 16th person and so on.
At the Tour Championship, we hand out awards for the following: Most Points for each age division Most Wins for each age division Lowest Stroke Average for each age division Sportsmanship Male and Female Player of the Year Longest Drive Winner (Contest conducted at the Tour Championship)
*Since we are limited in watching every single player on the tour, the Sportsmanship award is determined and voted on by the players. Each one will submit a vote on who they think has shown the best Sportsmanship throughout the summer. The number of recipients is determined at the end of the year.
Player of the Year: We select one male and one female player of the year at the end of the season. A player must be in the 15-18 Girls and 16-18 Boys division to be eligible. Player also must play in a minimum of 5 events. Selection is based on the following criteria: - Scoring average - Wins against strength of field - Sportsmanship
Player of the year is announced at the Tour Championship.
