The West Texas Junior Champions Tour has been providing competitive golf tournaments to juniors across West Texas since 1999. Now in our 12th season we have gone from 13 tournaments in 1999 to as many as 46 tournaments in 2006. We have also added two day and three day events in order to help players get ranked through Junior Golf Scoreboard.
$125.00 entry fee for the West Texas Junior Open three day event
$80.00 entry fee for Tour Championship
Tournament Information:
Players are required to walk and carry their own bags or use a pull cart. The only exception to this rule is for the 6-8 Coed age group, who is allowed a caddie.
Parents are spectators ONLY for ages 9-18. No coaching will be tolerated.
The UIL 9 stroke limit is enforced at every tournament.
Sky caddies or any type of yardage devices are prohibited in all events.
Players must NOT use cell phones or any other electronic devices in the duration of an event.
All events are governed by USGA rules. Players need to have at least a general understanding of the rules of golf when they play in an event. Because we are limited in monitering ALL play during an event, it is a players responsibility to know their rules. As we always say, when in doubt play two balls and ask the tournament staff when possible.
Parents are NOT responsible for making rule decisions and should refrain from doing so.
Scorecards: Players are ONLY responsible for the hole by hole scores. We strongly recommend checking your hole by hole scores with your playing partners before signing and turning in. If you sign for a higher score without realizing, your higher score stands. If you sign for a lower score without realizing, it results in disqualification under rule 6-6.
Dress:
No jeans/denim, athletic shorts or T-Shirts will be allowed. All players need to wear collared golf shirts or golf mocks and nice shorts or slacks. Girls need to make sure that shorts and skirts are appropriate lengths. We understand that some of the courses we play do not have a dress code, but we do. Therefore, we please ask that you are dressed appropriately.
Tournament Registration:
Players can enter by credit card online, or e-mail entry and pay the day of the event. All Online registration can be done under the "2010 Registration" link.

Yearly membership fee is $40.00. Members will receive a member bag tag, practice log and rule book.
2 Event Rule: For players that are only looking to play 1 or 2 of their area events, we allow the membership to be waived. However, if a third tournament is played the membership fee MUST be paid. No exceptions. Any prior points earned will be counted.
Early Bird Membership: Players who register and pay their 2010 membership before January 5th, 2010 will be able to have 4 tournaments at the price of only $10 each instead of regular $20.
In order to use the Early Bird special for a tournament, you must sign up before the event. You may use the email registration form, email us personally, or call. No online payment will be accepted for Early Bird, fee must be paid at the event. If you sign up with your Early Bird special and proceed to no-show to the event you lose the entry fee and Early Bird fee. When you cant use your early bird special: Red Dirt Shoot Out Snyder Shoot Out Partnership Tour Championship
No Show Policy:
Our policy on no-shows is once you have received 2, you will be removed from all future events. In order to get signed back up, you MUST pre-pay. There are no exceptions to this rule.
If you realize the morning of the event that you cannot make it and you are already signed up, please call or send a text to the tournament directors. Any notification helps us in getting the tournament started on time and arranging the tee sheets appropriately.
Cancellations:
Cancellations need to be made AT LEAST the night before an event in order to receive a refund. Cancellations can be made by emailing or calling.
Once a player has two no-call no-shows, they will be removed from all future events and must pre-pay in order to get signed back up.
If you pre-pay for an event and you do not show without cancelling, you will lose your fee.
If you are an early bird and are signed up for an event using the early bird special and do not show without cancelling, you will lose that early bird.
Incliment weather: we will try to get in as many holes as possible to score. Once tournament has started, no refunds will be issued due to commitments to golf courses. If the tournament gets cancelled, we will notify players before the event if possible.
Trophies:
Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 places in all age groups that have 3 or more players participating in that age group.
Tee-Times:
All Tee-times will be posted on the web-site no later than the day before the event. It is players responsibility to check their tee-times and check in at each event 30 minutes prior to tee-time. Most events will be shot-gun starts.
Points:
All players will receive points for each place they finish in an event. At the end of the season the top 15 in each age division will be invited to play in the end of year Tour Championship.
If a player wins 3 events he/she automatically qualifies for the Championship.
Point System as Follows:
1st place - 20 points
2nd place - 15 points
3rd place - 10 points
4th place - 8 points
5th place - 7 points
6th-10th place - 6 points
11th-15th place - 5 points
16th-20th place - 4 points
21st-25th place - 3 points
26th-30th place - 2 points

Any non-members participating in events will not receive points toward the championship.
Any ties in the tournament (except for in top 3) will result in both players receiving the same amount of points. (EX: Two players tied for 5th place means they will both receive the points for 5th)
Tour Championship:
To qualify for the Tour Championship, players must finish in the top 15 points by the end of the season or have at least 3 wins to be exempt.
At the end of the season, if there is somebody in the top 15 that doesn't plan on participating in the Championship, his spot will be given up and moved down to the 16th person and so on.
At the Tour Championship, we hand out awards for the following: Most Points Most Wins Lowest stroke average Sportsmanship
Each award is given for each age division, except the Sportsmanship Award.
Since we are limited in watching every single player on our tour, the Sportsmanship award is determined by the players. Each one will submit a vote on who they think has shown the best Sportsmanship throughout the summer. One boy and one girl will be awarded.
The Tour Championship is the only tournament during the summer season where players are allowed a caddie.
This years Tour Championship will be held at Lone Cedar Country Club in Eastland, TX. More information will be posted as it gets closer.
Player of the Year:
We select one Male and one Female player of the year at the end of the season. A player must be in the 15-18 Girls and 16-18 Boys division to be eligible. Selection is based on scoring average, wins against strength of field and sportsmanship. Player of the year will be announced at the Tour Championship.
